A watercolor painting of wild coffee. I liked the way the sunlight reflected off the leaves of the wild coffee plant. I took the reference photo while walking through the nature trails at Kendall Indian Hammocks Park in Miami, Florida. I have painted wild coffee before and was interested in painting another wild coffee in a different style.
This painting was awarded Best in Show at the Miami Watercolor Society 2023 Fall Exhibition, by Karen Knutson.
"This painting had that Wow factor. Very skilled workmanship. Love the line work.
Wide variety of greens and grays have a touch of magenta for a nice color bounce.
Great sense of light, and negative painting gives it great depth.
