"Heart of Poinsettia" is my Christmas Painting for 2025. The center part of the Poinsettia Plant made an interesting focal point and I was fascinated by the play of complimentary colors of red and green with an adjacent primary color of yellow for the primary red.
I wanted to explore working with different shades of red as I painted my favorite Christmas flower. I thought of this painting as my study in scarlet.
